Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not retain those search terms in our own records.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be kept so that we can answer it. We limit access to our team and disclose a message outside the organization only when the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems receive basic technical information when a page loads:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files used to understand traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics vendors help combine that data. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and usage data supports a limited set of operational purposes:
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
We do not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case information. The site explains where San Miguel County records are kept and how the Combined Court clerk, municipal clerks, and Colorado Judicial Branch provide access. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or files about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention schedules, and sharing rules govern anything submitted through those tools. We do not control those practices, so review the provider's policy first.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Judicial Branch pages, court clerks, municipal systems, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal data.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. Their controls govern that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures protect the information we hold. No internet system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. A report that a minor supplied data will be reviewed and the data deleted when identified.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary by residence and applicable law. Access to Colorado court-case data is governed separately by CJD 05-01 and the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act. Those court-record rules do not replace privacy rights that may apply to information a website itself collects. You can:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. A revised version will appear here with a new effective date, so visitors can review the practices then in force.
Effective date: August 16, 2026
